Our Story
Lauren and I met, of all places, on the softball field! Good 'ol fashion Co-Rec Glenview fun! Although we had a class together in high school, I wasn't lucky enough to have been introduced to Lauren until 9 years later! Well worth the wait!
I think I can safely say that Lauren was surprised when I asked her to marry me, not that we didn't speak of it, but how it was done...
Lauren and I had been waiting for one of our favorite bands, Modest Mouse, to play in Chicago and they finally made an appearance at a beautiful opera house in the theater district. I lucked out and got 4th row tickets - great for Lauren's view of the band! After waiting till the show was nearly at the end, I mustered up some courage, asked Lauren to "sit down for a second."
Her reply, "No, I can't dance then!"
But she did, and I dropped to a knee and asked "Will you marry me?"
Before I had time to take the ring out she asked, "Are you kidding?" (Wow!)
Then, after seeing the ring, I informed her that this is no joke, and the ring is real. Tears took the place of a definitive answer, but I had to reiterate the fact that my question did deserve an answer! Of course..."Yes"!!!!
